Đề Nghị Truy Cứu và Truy Tố Kẻ Tấn Công Người Biểu Tình tại Canberra
Chúng tôi, những người ký tên dưới đây, kêu gọi công lý cho vụ tấn công bạo lực xảy ra trong cuộc biểu tình ôn hòa của cộng đồng người tị nạn Việt Nam vào ngày 30 tháng 4 năm 2025, trước đại sứ quán Việt Nam tại Canberra, Australia.
Vào ngày 30 tháng 4 năm 2025, cộng đồng người tị nạn Việt Nam tại Úc đã tập trung trước đại sứ quán Việt Nam tại Canberra để tưởng niệm sự kiện lịch sử quan trọng trong của vô số người tị nạn và gia đình họ. Cuộc biểu tình thường niên này là một dịp trang trọng để tôn vinh những hy sinh và đấu tranh của những người đã chạy trốn khỏi chế độ cộng sản Việt Nam, tìm kiếm tự do và sự an toàn ở các quốc gia như Úc.
Tuy nhiên, trong cuộc biểu tình ôn hòa này, một cá nhân nữ đã lái xe vào khu vực biểu tình, phát nhạc khiêu khích ca ngợi nhà lãnh đạo cộng sản Việt Nam. Hành động liều lĩnh và thiếu tôn trọng này được thiết kế để khiêu khích và phá vỡ cuộc biểu tình ôn hòa. Kẻ tấn công nữ ra khỏi xe chạy đến đoàn biểu tình và tấn công một trong những người biểu tình từ phía sau.
Bằng chứng video (phut 1:50-2:00) cho thấy rõ bản chất cố ý của vụ tấn công. Bất chấp bằng chứng không thể chối cãi này, cảnh sát Liên bang Úc vẫn chưa đưa ra bất kỳ cáo buộc nào đối với kẻ tấn công cho đến nay.

Một cuộc điều tra toàn diện: Chúng tôi yêu cầu cảnh sát Liên Bang Úc tiến hành một cuộc điều tra toàn diện và minh bạch về vụ tấn công, sử dụng cảnh quay video làm bằng chứng chính. Cảnh quay này ghi lại rõ ràng vụ tấn công. Chúng tôi kêu gọi các nhà chức trách điều tra để bảo đảm kết quả nhanh chóng và công bằng.
Truy Tố Thích Hợp: Chúng tôi yêu cầu cảnh sát đưa ra các cáo buộc thích hợp đối với cá nhân chịu trách nhiệm về hành vi bạo lực này, bao gồm hành hung và kích động bạo lực. Hành vi như vậy không chỉ không thể chấp nhận được mà còn vi phạm trực tiếp quyền của những người biểu tình ôn hòa theo luật pháp Úc.
Bảo vệ quyền tự do ngôn luận và hội họp: Chúng tôi kêu gọi chính phủ Úc tái khẳng định cam kết bảo vệ quyền của người tị nạn và mọi cá nhân được tự do hội họp, biểu tình và bày tỏ quan điểm mà không sợ bị quấy rối, bạo lực hoặc đe dọa. Điều cần thiết là tất cả các cộng đồng phải được bảo vệ khỏi những hành động thù địch như vậy.
Cộng đồng người tị nạn Việt Nam phẫn nộ
Cuộc tấn công này đã khiến cộng đồng người tị nạn Việt Nam vừa đau lòng vừa tức giận. Việc không có xử lý thích hợp trong trường hợp này sẽ khuyến khích những kẻ tìm cách đe dọa và làm hại những cá nhân chỉ vì họ bày tỏ quan điểm của mình.
Chúng tôi tìm kiếm công lý và yêu cầu chính quyền hành động nhanh chóng, công bằng và quyết đoán để yêu cầu trách nhiệm cho cuộc tấn công này.

The issue
We, the undersigned, call for immediate justice and accountability regarding the violent attack that took place during the Vietnamese refugee community's peaceful protest on April 30, 2025, in front of the Vietnamese embassy in Canberra, Australia.
Background:
On April 30, 2025, the Vietnamese refugee community in Australia gathered in front of the Vietnamese embassy in Canberra to peacefully commemorate the fall of Saigon, marking an important historical event in the lives of countless refugees and their families. This annual protest is a solemn occasion to honor the sacrifices and struggles of those who fled the communist regime of Vietnam, seeking freedom and safety in countries like Australia.
However, during this peaceful demonstration, a female individual drove her car into the protest area, blaring provocative music that praised the communist leader of Vietnam. This reckless and disrespectful act was designed to provoke and disrupt the peaceful assembly. The situation escalated when the female assailant exited the vehicle, ran toward the protesters and physically attacked one of the protesters from behind, causing significant distress to the individual and to the community gathered.
The video (Min 1:50-2:00)evidence clearly shows the deliberate and hostile nature of the assault, confirming the seriousness of the situation. Despite this indisputable evidence, the Australian Federal Police have failed to lay any charges against the assailant as of now.
Our Demands:
We, the undersigned, demand the following actions be taken immediately:
A Full Investigation: We demand that the Australian Federal Police conduct a thorough and transparent investigation into the attack, utilizing the video footage as key evidence. This footage clearly documents the assault, leaving no room for doubt about the assailant's actions. We urge the authorities to prioritize this investigation to ensure a swift and fair outcome.
Appropriate Charges: We demand that the police lay appropriate charges against the individual responsible for this violent act, which included physical assault and incitement to violence. Such behavior is not only unacceptable but also a direct violation of the rights of peaceful protesters under Australian law.
Protection of Free Speech and Assembly: We call on the Australian government to reaffirm its commitment to upholding the rights of refugees and all individuals to freely assemble, protest, and express their opinions without fear of harassment, violence, or intimidation. It is essential that all communities are protected from such hostile actions

This attack has left the Vietnamese refugee community both heartbroken and furious. The lack of appropriate action in this case sends a dangerous message to those who would seek to intimidate and harm individuals simply for expressing their views.
